Till May, Vasco sees 40 dengue cases

VASCO: Mormugao taluka has seen 30 cases of dengue being reported from Sada and 10 cases from Vaddem for the period January to May, said chief officer Mormugao Municipal Council (MMC) Agnelo Fernandes. Incidence of malaria in the taluka has been brought under control.
Speaking at a joint meeting with MMC, health officer, Vasco Urban Health Centre, Dr Rashmi Khandeparkar said the taluka remained vulnerable to dengue and a lot was needed to be done to bring the disease under control.

Fernandes asked health officials to take up awareness campaigns as incidence of the disease increases during the monsoon. Khandeparkar said the CISF and MPT colonies were vulnerable.
