BÀ RỊA-VŨNG TÀU — The first case patient to have contracted H1N1 avian flu this year in Bà Rịa-Vũng Tàu Province was released from hospital in a stable condition, Bà Rịa hospital announced on Saturday.

The hospital last Monday admitted a 54-year-old male patient suffering symptoms of coughing, high fever and sore throat.

The doctors learnt that he earlier took his wife to the Từ Dũ Hospital in HCM City where an on-going H1N1 outbreak has infected 28 people and already killed one while another remains in critical condition.

The patient tested positive for the A/H1N1 virus.

His health improved after three days of treatment and he was then sent home, the hospital said. — VNS
