Swim guide finds high E.coli at 3 locales

The Coosa Riverkeeper Swim Guide reports high E.coli alerts at some local swimming holes, including three in Etowah County.

High levels were found at Big Canoe Creek (2,419.6), at Attalla City Park (1,299.7), and at Big Wills Creek (816.4).

High E.coli was found at Coldwater Creekan d Pell City Lakeside Park, also, and a moderately high E.coli level was recorded at Choccolocco Creek, at Priebes Mill Bridge.

The swim guide denotes a site at high alert if the most recent reading reach the value of 235 col/100mL – Alabama single sample standard for E.coli bacteria.

The swim guide warns that rain events can alter test results.
