The source of a springtime food poisoning outbreak has been found

Undated (WBAP/KLIF) – Three months ago a nationwide warning was issued to avoid eating romaine lettuce because a lot of it had been contaminated with e-coli bacteria. At least 200 people, including 4 in Texas, were sickened. It was the largest single food poisoning outbreak in the country in more than a decade. After much investigation the source of the contamination has been found. It was caused by a tainted irrigation canal in Yuma, Arizona. Multiple farms tapped into that canal to water their fields. The Centers for Disease Control says the outbreak is now officially over.
