Embarrassment for Cong as MLA tests positive in dope test

Coming as a major embarrassment for Congress politicians queuing up for the past few days to get their dope test done from the Civil Hospital, Kartarpur MLA Chaudhary Surinder Singh’s report turned out to be positive.

The MLA did not accompany his uncle and Jalandhar MP Ch Santokh Singh and other MLAs who had gone for the test in the previous week. Instead, he had reportedly got himself tested on Sunday. He is the first and the only MLA perhaps to have tested positive.

He reportedly told the media on Tuesday that he had been taking an anti-anxiety medicine on prescription due to which the tests came positive.

While Ch Surinder did not respond to calls on Wednesday, his uncle said he was away and not aware of his report. Meanwhile, Jalandhar Cantonment MLA Pargat Singh and Jalandhar West MLA Sushil Rinku have not got the test done. Pargat said he did not subscribe to this rat race of getting self-tests done.
