VASCO: A six-year-old student of Regina Mundi High School, Chicalim, succumbed to
dengue fever on Saturday. The child had been admitted to the Goa Medical College and hospital for treatment, sources said.
The school’s principal had written to the urban health centre about ten suspected dengue cases in the institute. When health officials, accompanied by urban health officer Dr Rashmi Khandeparkar, surveyed the school’s surrounding, they found several mosquito breeding sites.
The case has created panic among parents, students and staff.
