Mosquitoes that carry the west nile virus have been found in Hidden Valley and Damonte Ranch, so the Washoe County Health District is asking you take precautions. They suggest insect repellent at dawn and dusk, along with long sleeve shirts and pants. You can even put that repellent on your clothing, which give you an added layer of protection. Remove any standing water on your property where they can breed, and repair any window screen with holes, so they can’t get inside your house.
