Dengue, malaria on rise in Capital, 43 cases reported last week

The Capitals civic agencies have reported a total of 107 dengue cases this season, with 17 fresh cases reported last week.

At least 43 cases of malaria have been reported in the last one week, taking the total number of people affected by the vector-borne disease this season to 173.

The number of chikungunya cases reported so far is 62.

Dr Atul Gogia, senior consultant, internal medicine at Sir Ganga Ram Hospital, said, We are getting 4 to 5 dengue patients every day. Malaria and chikungunya cases are also coming up. Rains have started so disease pattern will increase every week.
