Health department says mosquitoes with West Nile virus found in Kentucky

One Kentucky health department has announced it has found mosquitoes with West Nile virus.

There are no reported human cases at this time. Most people infected show no symptoms, but approximately one in five will develop a fever along with other symptoms. A rare number of people can experience more significant symptoms.

People 60 and older or people with medical conditions are at the greatest risk.

Health experts ask the public to use repellant to help prevent mosquito bites. Wearing long-sleeve clothing and socks also helps prevent bites.
