Jalandhar, August 4
As a part of its ongoing drive against vector-borne diseases under ‘Tandarust Punjab’ Mission in the district, the anti-larvae cell of the Health Department and the Municipal Corporation, Jalandhar, on Satuday detected 11 cases of dengue larvae in different localities. On the directions of Sukhjinder Singh, various teams led by Raj Kumar, Sarabjit, Gurpal Singh and Harjeet Singh undertook checking in Old Baradari, New Baradari, Chugitti and Ladhewali localities.
During the drive, the team checked 240 houses, 111 waste containers and 79 coolers. The team detected dengue larvae in 11 coolers.
The team sprayed medicine at 300 sites to prevent the breeding of mosquitoes, besides distributing 2,000 chlorine tablets among people. — TNS
