PATNA: A woman and a minor girl of Patna’s shelter home- Vishesh Aasra Grih were rushed to Patna Medical College and Hospital (PMCH) after they complained of dizziness late on Monday.
The incident came after two women died on Friday due to negligence in health care given by the staff of the shelter home.
PMCH superintendent Dr Rajiv Ranjan Prasad said Zubeda Khatoon (55) and Baby Kumari (17) brought from Aasra Grih were admitted in serious condition around 9.30pm on Monday.

“Both of them are very weak and severely anaemic. The doctors have conducted a thorough check of both the patients, such as blood test, city scan, ultrasound, urine test among others. Both of them were put under observation and provided medical care,” Prasad said.
“The condition of Baby Kumari was so severe that she kept on fainting and her blood level also dropped. The doctors transfused one unit blood to her soon after she was admitted here. They will be kept here for more days until their condition improve,” said Dr Prasad adding that he got the call from shelter home that the condition of one more girl was also deteriorating and she will be admitted here.
The incident came to the light on August 12 following the death of Poonam Bharti (17) and Babli alias Notpa (40), but the incident was not reported to the police and the social welfare department. They got the information after the doctors of PMCH, where the women were declared brought dead, informed Pirbahore police station on Saturday.

After the deaths, police arrested Manisha Dayal and Chirantan Kumar, treasurer and secretary of NGO named Anumaya Human Resource Foundation under which the shelter home functions. A local court on Monday remanded them for police custody for three days.
While, a police team led by DSP (law and order) Manoj Kumar Sudhanshu on Tuesday raided Manisha’s flat located at Boring Canal road under SK Puri police station.
Patna district magistrate Kumar Ravi on Monday evening disclosed that primary report of post-mortem of the deceased revealed that the women had 'fever and diarrhea', but were brought dead to the hospital.
