On 7 August 2018, 41 children and 16 adults at a holiday camp in Cinqfontaines fell ill due to an unknown sickness. The health ministry has today confirmed the presence of Norovirus.

“At this point, all children and their caregivers are doing well,” reports a communiqué for the health ministry. “Each person underwent a medical examination and food, as well as drinking water, samples are also being tested.”

Although Norovirus is a highly contagious virus that spreads quickly, it does not pose a serious risk to a generally healthy person.

Norovirus is often referred to as the “winter vomiting bug", although it can strike at any time. It is a stomach bug that causes vomiting and diarrhea. It can be very unpleasant, but usually goes away in about 2 days. If not, please contact a doctor asap.
