Drive to shield over 80 dogs from rabies

PUNE: RESQ Charitable Trust with Pune Zila Parishad recently vaccinated over 80 street and semi-owned dogs against rabies in Pirangut.
Around 97% of dogs, which were administered anti-rabies vaccines, had no vaccination history.
Indrakshi Banerji, RESQ veterinarian, said that the vaccination drive in Pirangut on August 14 covered approximately 30% of semi owned-dog population in the area. “We also collared the vaccinated dogs with ‘green-coloured, riveted’ collars’,” he said.
