An alert has been issued concerning possible listeria monocytogenes present in falafels sold in Delhaize supermarkets in Luxembourg.

The affected product is a pack of eight falafels from the brand "Atelier Blini" called "8 falafels pois chiches, carottes & coriandre" (8 falafels, chickpeas, carrots and coriander).

The suspect packs show expiration dates up until 12 September this year.

They have the identification numbers EAN 3292070005994, and lot 182651.

Delhaize have announced that all packs have been removed from their supermarket shelves and advise that consumers who have already purchased the product should refrain from eating them.

The packs should either be disposed of, or returned to the store for complete reimbursement.

All other packs and products are not affected.

People who have already consumed the product may experience a fever with a headache and should consult their doctor. This is especially important for pregnant women, children, people with weak immune systems and older people, who should pay extra attention to possible symptoms as they may indicate listeriosis, which can have serious consequences.
