Man found dead in Italian village suffered multiple gunshot wounds

COLUMBUS, Ohio (WSYX/WTTE) — Columbus police are investigating a man found dead near an intersection in Italian Village Sunday morning.

Medics responded to the intersection of North 4th Street and East Lincoln Street just before 6:30 a.m. on the report of a person with blood coming out of the head.

The victim, who was later identified as 35-year-old Daniel B. Connell, was pronounced dead a short time later. Police say he was shot multiple times.

A woman headed to work Sunday morning found the victim's body lying on the sidewalk and called 911. Currently, officers have no suspects or motive.
