Carlow Gardaí detect disqualified driver who tests positive for opiates and cannabis

It happened in the early hours of Monday morning

Gardaí were conducting a checkpoint in Carlow in the early hours of this morning (August 25) when a vehicle came upon it and turned back.

Gardaí caught up with the driver who was disqualified with no driving licence or insurance.

A roadside drug test turned up positive for opiates and cannabis.

The driver was arrested, the vehicle seized and Gardaí say court will follow.
