KINGSTON, R.I., (WJAR) — As a boil water order hit five public water systems over the weekend, small relief is coming from a public water filling station at a fire station.
The Rhode Island Emergency Management Agency announced a public water filling station at the Kingston Fire District Station on 35 Bills Road.
Residents can bring in their own containers for a fill up from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. while the boil water order is in effect, said the agency.
On Friday, the Rhode Island Department of Health announced that E. coli bacteria had been found in five public water systems in the state.
At the time, it was estimated around 38,000 residents had been impacted.
