Irish food safety chiefs have issued two recalls amid a deadly outbreak of listeria.

One batch of pesto and another batch of hummus have been pulled from shelves due to the possible presence of the bacteria.

The Deli Green pesto was sold in Aldi shops across Ireland.

In a statement on Friday, the Food Safety Authority of Ireland (FSAI) said: "Aldi is recalling one batch of its The Deli Green Pesto due to the detection of Listeria monocytogenes. Point-of-sale recall notices will be displayed in Aldi stores."
