Dengue fever cases reducing in city: Rao
Visakhapatnam: The number of fever cases have been decreasing gradually in the city of Visakhapatnam, said HRD minister Ganta Srinivasa Rao. He visited the households of dengue patients and interacted with them in several parts of Zone-I alongside GVMC Commissioner M Hari Narayanan, on Friday.
Speaking on this occasion, Srinivasa Rao expressed his satisfaction over the vector-borne disease control programme measures and its results.
“All the fever patients should seek medical assistance instead of resorting to self-medication. They should also undergo medical tests at nearby government medical centres. The number of cases in Zone-I are limited to three in September as opposed to 36 in August and 51 in July. The field-level staff have intensified the control measures, including fogging and spraying operations. Several special teams were also appointed for the supervision of the surveillance measures,” said Srinivasa Rao.
GVMC Commissioner M Hari Narayanan also explained the measures that have been undertaken by the GVMC in order to control the vector-borne diseases in the cityof Vizag.
Zone-I special officer Somannarayana, Zonal Commissioner Sanyasi Naidu and others were also present.
