Boil water advisory in place for multiple areas in Darlington County

***UPDATE: This was repealed for the the below communities on Sept. 22 at 5 p.m.

Darlington County, S.C. (WPDE) — A boil water advisory was put in place Friday, Sept. 21 for areas in Darlington County, according to a news release from the Darlington County Water and Sewer Authority.

Those areas are:

• Hoffmeyer Road
• S. Center Road
• Timmonsville Highway
• Lake Swamp Road
• Sally Hill Road
• Lamar Highway
• Oates Highway
• Highhill Road
• Syracuse Community Road and the surrounding areas.

Residents are asked to vigorously boil their water for at least one full minute before cooking or drinking.

This is due to a water leak and the water may be contaminated.
