Dengue & Japanese Encephalitis

As many as 240 dengue cases have been detected in Dimapur and Kohima of Nagaland since January this year till date.

Out of the 1,305 blood samples tested in Dimapur, 235 were found to be positive. Similarly, five out of the 235 samples tested in Kohima were found to be positive

However, no death has been reported so far.

The Health Department, while allaying fears, said that compared to last year when the scenario was far more serious, people were now more aware and taking necessary precautions.

The Health Department has also embarked on a sensitization drive to sensitize people on how to prevent dengue outbreak.

Meanwhile, fogging drive to control dengue outbreak has been undertaken in Dimapur and its adjoining areas.

As far as the five dengue cases in Kohima, four were reportedly transported from Dimapur. Only one was indigenous case as the individual had no travel history, according to Health Department in Kohima.
