Rabies vaccination clinics across Sullivan County scheduled for Thursday night

In an effort to get pets in Sullivan County vaccinated against rabies, a number of vaccination clinic are being held Thursday night.

There were 36 animals that tested positive for rabies in Tennessee in 2017, according to information reported by the Department of Health. That included one skunk found in Sullivan County.

The cost of the shot is $10 per pet and state law requires that all dogs and cats ages three months and older be vaccinated annually.

The clinic locations are:

  • Bristol- Animal Medical Clinic, 2012 West State Street; Ferguson Vet Hospital, 636 Anderson Street; Jones Animal Hospital, 603 Volunteer Parkway; and, Volunteer Animal Clinic, 2515 Volunteer Parkway
  • Blountville- Sullivan Central High School, 131 Shipley Ferry Road
  • Piney Flats- Appalachian Animal Hospital, 5462 Highway 11E
  • Bluff City- Paws of Hope, 231 Highway 19E
  • Kingsport- Andes Straley Vet Hospital, 3407 Memorial Blvd.; Colonial Heights Animal Hospital, 209 Colonial Heights Rd.; Indian Ridge Animal Hospital, 1100 Indian Trail Drive; and, Sullivan Middle School, 4145 S. Wilcox Dr.
