HIV cases in Philippines significantly increase

(MENAFN) The Philippines was unveiled to have been struck with significantly growing numbers of HIV cases each day.

The Department of Health (DOH) found in its data that HIV hits no less than 31 Filipino every single day in the Philippines.

The DOH also raised grave concern of HIV, which results in acquired immunodeficiency syndrome (AIDS), becoming an epidemic in the country.

Filipinos infected with HIV and AIDS "have drastically increased over the last couple of years," stated Health Secretary Francisco Duque.

Duque added "just over the past decade, the average rate of new HIV cases in the Philippines has grown from one per day to 31 per day. And this figure does not include undocumented cases."
