Viral meningitis reported at Powers Catholic High School

FLINT, Mich. – A case of viral meningitis has been reported at Powers Catholic High School, according to a letter sent home to parents from the school Friday.

The school says they are taking every precaution to make sure students and families are informed.

Powers’ custodial staff disinfected exposed surfaces at the high school Friday as well as their routine nightly cleaning procedures.

Students will also be addressed by staff on proper hand washing.

Other schools in the area have also reported cases of viral meningitis this month.
