Florida Department of Health officials found the bacteria that causes Legionnaires’ disease at the Plantation Oaks Senior Living home, WFTV reported.

Staff at the assisted living facility, at 9309 S. Orange Blossom Trail, told its residents in a memo to take sponge baths using their sinks instead of showering because of updates to the water filtration system, but did not mention Legionella, according to the report.

At least one resident, an 80-year-old man, got sick about two months ago.
