Vaccinations are readily available, free, and important for your health and children.

The Saskatchewan Health Authority is urging parents to get their kids vaccinated after a number of confirmed cases of whooping cough have already appeared in the province.

The highly contagious bacterial infection has popped up in the areas of Wakaw, Waldheim, Hague, Hepburn, and Rosthern.

If you recall, Moose Jaw saw over 60 cases of the infection last year, and we don't want a repeat.

Babies and small children are most vulnerable to whooping cough. Symptoms include fever, runny nose, coughing, and in rare cases, it can be fatal.

Also, with flu season upon us, immunizations are also readily available across Moose Jaw, with many pharmacies providing free drop-ins.
