280 cases of dengue recorded

Up to 280 cases of dengue were recorded in the city over the past week, stated the latest report on vector-borne diseases released by the South Delhi Municipal Corporation on Monday.

The total number of dengue cases reported so far are 1,875. However, the number is lower than the figures recorded over the past three years. The number of cases stood at 4,188 this time last year. In 2016, 3,778 dengue cases were recorded, while 15,254 cases reported in 2015.

Twelve cases of malaria were also recorded this past week week, taking the total to 450. The corporation’s report shows a drop in the number of malaria cases reported this month. Twenty cases were reported in 2017, 30 in 2016 and 28 in 2015. The number of chikungunya cases stands at 141, with eight cases reported till November 10.
