Dengue spate ebbs, jaundice cases up
Ahmedabad: The city reported nearly seven cases of jaundice and nine case of typhoid every day in the first 10 days of November.
According to the data from the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation, in this ten-day period, there were 80 cases of gastroenteritis, 65 of jaundice and 90 of typhoid.
However, according to AMC, the number of dengue cases, which was on the rise in the city in October seems to be under control.
In October, there 169 cases of dengue, a daily average of almost 5.5. In the first 10 days of November, there have been 25 cases, a daily average of 2.5.
AMC officials said that in this ten-day period, the civic body imposed fines worth Rs 10.41 lakh on 897 units. According to AMC officials, of the 897 cases registered, 408 were for littering or for unsanitary conditions. The mobile unit of the AMC also registered 489 cases of littering.
