Positive flu cases confirmed in central, southeast & southwestern Michigan

LANSING, Mich. -- The 2018- 2019 flu season is already underway, according to the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services.

Positive flu cases have been confirmed in central, southeast and southwestern Michigan.

On top of that, flu-like illnesses are being reported across the state, too.

Health officials are urging people to get vaccinated.

The CDC recommends routine annual influenza vaccination for all persons 6 months of age and older.

There is also a program called Vaccines for Children that provides the shot for free if you’re uninsured.
