ASHEVILLE, N.C. (WLOS) — Buncombe County health officials say the chicken pox outbreak that began in October continues to grow in Asheville.
Five more cases have been confirmed, bringing the total number of people infected to 41.
Thirty-seven of those cases are linked to students at Asheville Waldorf School.
The four other cases are people in the community.
The health department has been monitoring the outbreak since the end of October.
Health officials predict the number of cases will continue to rise into the new year.
