A total of 284 new flu cases have been confirmed across Pennsylvania, bringing the season tally to 872, and no more deaths attributed to the flu, leaving the season tally at 1, according to the state Department of Health.
Experts say only a small fraction of cases are confirmed, as many people who get the flu aren't tested.
The latest report, dated Dec. 1, shows a season tally of 17 confirmed cases in Lancaster County, an increase of 6 from last week.
The department doesn't say where in the state flu deaths happened, but the four Lancaster County hospitals said they have not had any.
The department previously said the one person in the state who died because of flu was in the 65+ age group.
