Macau | Social security benefits to come into force in January 2019

Macau (MNA) – Increases to social security benefits and pensions that were confirmed in 2018’s Chief Executive (CE) Policy Address will be implemented in January 2019.

According to a release by the Social Security Fund (FSS), the confirmed amount of benefits are the following, namely, MOP3,630 (US$449.89) a month for pensions, MOP3,630 a month for disability allowance and MOP145 a day for unemployment allowance.

Those who fall sick and are hospitalised are entitled to an allowance of MOP145 a day, while those who do not require hospitalisation are entitled to MOP110 a day.

For those giving birth, birth allowance totals MOP5,260 per birth, and those getting married are entitled to MOP2,060.

Funeral allowances have been increased to MOP2,670.

Benefits for the needy have been increased to MOP2,385 per month.
