HAYTI, MO (KFVS) - All Hayti water customers are under a boil water order until further notice.

As of 4 p.m. on Jan. 1 city officials said one pump has been fixed and the city is running on two wells.

The water department is flushing lines. Residents are asked to call the city if water is still dark after 7:30 or 8 p.m.

Mayor Green said after the lines are cleared the city will be under a boil order for at lease one day. This will allow time for water samples to be cleared with the Department of Natural Resources.

City officials hope to lift the order by Friday.

According to Mayor Green, damage caused by storms on Monday, Dec. 31 knocked out the city’s high service pump.

Mayor Green says this put the city down to one well.

Crews are working to fix the problem caused by the storm damage, but customers need to boil water until the order is lifted.
