Influenza cases confirmed; vaccine still recommended

Even though lab-confirmed influenza cases have now reached Chase County, it’s not too late to get a flu vaccine.
Ronda Sargent, Chase County Clinic manager, and other health professionals still recommend the vaccine.
“It’s never too late. It’s still important,” Sargent said.
Melissa Propp, R.N., with the Southwest Nebraska Public Health Dept. (SWNPHD) in McCook, agreed.
“It’s hard to say if it’s peaked. Influenza is climbing across the U.S. right now and is widespread in Nebraska,” Propp said.
