Eastern Iowa flu cases are on the rise.
Outbreaks were reported in four of the six major flu regions in Iowa.
The Iowa Department of Health says adults 65 years and older are the most likely to get sick.
Other people at risk include pregnant women, children four years old and younger, and seniors with chronic medical conditions.
Officials say the most effective way to prevent the flu virus is vaccination.
