Eradicating the tsetse fly in Senegal

Emmanuelle Landais (Dakar)January 30, 2019

The bloodsucking insects transmit parasites that cause sleeping sickness, which can be fatal in humans if left untreated. Scientists in Senegal are trying to wipe out the harmful flies by releasing sterile males into the environment. And, as Emmanuelle Landais reports, they're having considerable success.
