The City of Holstein has issued a boil advisory to its residents due to two water main breaks, according to a press release the city sent out this morning.

Drinking the city water without boiling is NOT recommended at this time.

Run your bathtub or faucet to remove the air and any colored water.

The city recommends to bring all water to a boil, let it boil for one minute, and then let the water cool before using. Or you could use bottled water.

Boiled or bottled water should be used for drinking, making ice, brushing teeth, and making food until further notice. Boiling kills bacteria and other organisms in the water.

You will be advised when the boil order is lifted.
