Four more monkeys found dead in Udupi

No positive cases among humans

Four more monkeys were found dead in different parts of Udupi district on Friday.

Prashanth Bhat, District Nodal Officer for Kyasanur Forest Disease (KFD), told The Hindu on Friday that two monkeys were found dead in Hebri, while a monkey each was found dead in Dondarangady and Bidkalkatte.

Autopsy was done on the monkey in Dondarangady.

Meanwhile, the Department of Health and Family Welfare has started administering vaccine against KFD in parts of the district since January 29.

Rohini, District Health and Family Welfare Officer, told The Hindu that 80 persons were vaccinated in Nitte on Friday. There has been no positive case of KFD among people.
