Millbrook Dairy Raw Milk Tests Positive For Listeria

The dairy has been working to find the source of the contamination and has another test scheduled.

MILLBROOK, NY — A local dairy has found that its raw milk has been contaminated with Listeria Monocytogenes. The state Department of Agriculture and Markets warned on Wednesday that raw milk consumer in Dutchess County and surrounding area should not drink raw unpasteurized milk from Millbrook's Shunpike Dairy.

The company was notified of a preliminary positive test result and further laboratory testing confirmed the presence of Listeria, WPDH.com said.

On Facebook, Shunpike Dairy said they have suspended sales of milk until further notice.

They said they are working to locate the source of the Listeria, and a new test will be performed Feb. 4.

The results of that test will likely be obtained by Friday or the following Monday.
