LAS VEGAS (KSNV) — Twelve Southern Nevada residents have died from influenza this winter while 371 have been hospitalized.
The numbers were released Friday by the Southern Nevada Health District.
Six of the deaths have been in the 65 plus age group, 4 from ages 50 to 64, 1 death from age 25 to 49 and 1 below 4 years of age.
Of those hospitalized, 59 percent have been from those 50 years or older.
Influenza A is the primary type reported, nearly 360 cases of those hospitalized.
