The driver was also found in possession of a small quantity of cannabis
Gardaí carried out a checkpoint at Ballinacarrig in Carlow this week and a driver attempted to evade the checkpoint.
A roadside drug tests was positive for cannabis and the driver was arrested and conveyed to Carlow Garda Station.
A blood specimen was provided and is pending analysis.
The driver was also found in possession of a small quantity of cannabis.
