Summer 2017 Office of the dean of students

The Office of the Dean of Students

As of Friday afternoon, five students have gone to Purdue University Student Health Center with lice, according to the associate dean of students.

Brandon Cutler said a number of calls regarding lice treatment have originated from Wiley and Earhart residence halls as well as a sorority.

PUSH can see patients with possible lice and provide treatment options. According to information from Brittany Perry, PUSH's infection prevention coordinator, a visit would consist of a consultation that examines for lice.

"If it is determined you have lice, a prescription shampoo can be sent to Purdue University Pharmacy for pick-up," the statement reads.

The shampoo may require 24 hours to be available for pick-up in the case that it's not in stock at the pharmacy.

However, other treatment options are available over the counter at alternative off campus options, such as CVS, Walmart and Walgreens, according to the statement.
