A Miami restaurant worker tested positive for Hepatitis A and health officials are warning patrons to seek medical treatment.

MIAMI, FL -- A Miami restaurant worker tested positive for Hepatitis A and health officials are warning patrons to seek medical treatment.

The worker was employed by Primo's Italian Kitchen & Bar inside the Doubletree Grand Hotel at 1717 North Bayshore Drive.

"DOH-Miami-Dade recommends that if you frequented this restaurant until Feb. 7, 2019 to seek medical assessment for vaccination against Hepatitis A," health officials said.

People who have previously received two doses of the Hepatitis A vaccine six months apart do not need to be vaccinated again.

Vaccinations can be obtained through a private health care provider or by contacting the Department of Health in Miami-Dade County.

"Hepatitis A is an infection of the liver caused by the hepatitis A virus," health officials said. "Typical symptoms of Hepatitis A are more common in adults and older children."

Health officials cautioned that no medicines can cure the disease once symptoms appear.
