Swine flu has been spreading its tentacles in the city at an alarming rate and took three persons of a family, including a man and his two children, among 14 new patients in the city in its grip on Friday.

LUCKNOW: Swine flu has been spreading its tentacles in the city at an alarming rate and took three persons of a family, including a man and his two children, among 14 new patients in the city in its grip on Friday. The total tally of persons who have been affected with the contagious viral disease since January has gone up to 187 now.

The majority of these influenza A H1N1 positive cases — 158 — have been reported in just 22 days of February.
This means that, on an average, seven people in the city were infected by the swine flu virus per day in this duration in February.
Among the fresh H1N1 cases reported on Friday, a 65-year-old woman from River View Enclave in Gomtinagar was admitted to a private health facility. All other 13 positive cases were said to be recuperating at their respective homes in isolation.
A seven-year-old girl from Lalbagh, a 62-year-old man from Indiranagar, a 55-year-old man from Gomtinagar, an 11-year-old boy from Chinhat, a 45-year-old man from IIM road and his eight-year-old son and four-year-old daughter included the new swine flu cases.
The new patients also included a 67-year-old man from IIM road, a 22-year-old man from Mawaiya, a six-year-old girl from Alambagh, a 13-year-old girl from South City, a three-year-old girl from Vrindavan Yojana and 62-year-old woman from Aashiana.
