India vs Australia: MS Dhoni becomes first Indian to achieve THIS milestone in 2nd T20I

Former Indian skipper MS Dhoni on Wednesday became the first ever Indian to hit 350 sixes in international cricket en-route his 40-run knock in the second T20I in Australia at the Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. India lost the game by seven wickets as Australia clinched the series 2-0 to win their maiden T20I series on Indian soil. Glenn Maxwell slammed a brilliant 113 off 55 deliveries to set up the chase for Australia after India posted a 195-run target. 

Dhoni currently has 352 sixes to his name across formats in total 526 international games. He is placed 5th in the overall list which is topped by West Indies explosive batsman Chris Gayle, who has a staggering 506 sixes to his name in 447 international games. The likes of Shahid Afridi, Brendon McCullum and Sanath Jayasuriya comprise the top four. 

Dhoni's teammate Rohit Sharma is also one short of reaching the milestone of 350 sixes. The Ranchi-born wicket-keeper batsman, on Wednesday, hit three sixes and three fours during his quickfire 23-ball 40 against Australia in Bengaluru. He combined with skipper Kohli (72) to power India to a good total of 190/4 in 20 overs. Kohli and Dhoni combined to post a 100-run stand for the fourth wicket. 

KL Rahul also continued his fine form from the opener at Vizag as he missed a second successive half-century by a whisker. The right-hander scored 47 off 26 balls and gave India a strong start with Shikhar Dhawan (14). The duo added 61 runs for the first wicket before Rahul was dismissed by Nathan Coulter-Nile. 

However, all of Dhoni, Kohli and Rahul's effort went in vain as Maxwell played a match-winning knock to single-handedly demolish the Indian bowling attack. His innings was laced with seven boundaries and nine sixes helping Australia chase down the target with two balls to spare. India will now aim to get back to winning ways in the upcoming five-match ODI series after losing two back to back T20I series.
