SYLVESTER, GA (WALB) - Sylvester city officials say they should have test results back by late morning, to let residents know if they need to continue to boil their water for safety.

The city of Albany is testing Sylvester's water, and results are expected Thursday morning.

Sunday morning there was a water main on Seabrook Drive split, cutting the flow to at least four streets.

Tuesday Sylvester officials announced the water main break had been repaired.

City officials issued an order for people on Kourtney Street, Pamela Drive, Christina Drive, and Neither Drive to boil their water until further notice.

Officials hope to get test results Thursday, but say keep boiling until then.

“It’s good to boil your water just in case. You don’t want no kind of germs or diseases in your drinking water if you are cooking something,” said Roman Ferguson, the Water and Sewer Superintendent.

Sylvester officials will go door to door to put notices on each effected house with the test results.
