12 new patients test swine flu positive in Vadodara

VADODARA: Even as Vadodara received temporary relief on Sunday with no swine flu deaths reported from the city or the district on Sunday, 12 new samples tested positive of H1N1 virus on the same day.
Of the 12 cases, 10 have been reported from Gotri, Manjalpur, VIP Road, Warasiya, Karelibaug and Sama-Savli Road areas falling within the Vadodara Municipal Corporation (VMC) limits, while one case each have been reported from Vadodara rural and neighbouring Kheda district.

The fresh cases include a two-year-old child from Ramdevnagar area. The new case in Vadodara rural has been reported from Bill Road, while the Kheda patient hails from Nadiad town.
With these 10 fresh positive cases, the total number of swine flu cases reported within the VMC limits has touched 336 since January 1. Of these, 238 patients have been cured, 79 still under treatment while 19 have died.
In Vadodara rural, the total number of swine flu positive cases from January 1, has reached 65, of which 46 patients have been cured, 10 are under treatment and nine patients have died.
