Sri Lanka reports 8,900 cases of dengue virus


(MENAFN) The Epidemiology Unit declared that at least 8,900 cases of the dengue virus have been reported across Sri Lanka so far this year.

Till March 1, up to 8,904 dengue patients have been recorded with the highest toll of cases recorded from the Colombo district with 2,017, followed by Jaffna in the north with 1,354 and Gampaha on the outskirts of the Colombo district with 1,093 cases.

Medical experts advised the public to ask for instant medical case if they showed signs of fever, uncontrolled vomiting, abdominal pain, dizziness and reduced urinary.

Epidemiologists confirmed: "All fever patients need rest and should refrain from attending work or school." €ƒ
