The entire village of Malone was under a boil water order for more than 24 hours.

TONIGHT -- AFTER OFFICIALS FOUND E. COLI. THEY SAY IT WAS AN ISOLATED SAMPLE-- BUT NEARBY SCHOOLS, HOSPITALS, AND BUSINESSES HAVE BEEN NOTIFIED. MALONE'S MAYOR SAYS THERE ARE RESOURCES IN PLACE IF IT BECOMES A BIGGER PROBLEM. "WE HAVE A LOT OF RESOURCES IN PLACE. THAT STATE HAS ALSO ALERTED US IF WE NEED ADDITIONAL RESOURCES SUCH AS BOTTLED WATER OF WATER BUFFALO TO HELP FOLKS GET THROUGH, THAT IS AVAILABLE. I DON'T THINK WE WILL NEED IT, BUT IT'S GOOD TO KNOW THAT IT IS THERE." THE VILLAGE WILL TEST THE WATER AGAIN TOMORROW-- AND HOPES TO HAVE THE RESULTS IN BY NOON.

A boil water order for the entire village of Malone has been lifted after more than 24 hours.The order was issued shortly before 11 a.m. Wednesday.It was lifted just before 4 p.m. Thursday.Routine testing found elevated levels of E. coli in the village water supply.The order affected all residents in Malone.You no longer need to boil water before using it or use bottled water. E. coli can cause diarrhea, cramps, nausea, headaches and fatigue.If you feel sick, contact your healthcare provider.No other information was immediately released.
