Swine flu claims 3 more lives in Rajasthan toll rises to 153

JAIPUR: H1N1 scare continued in Rajasthan, with three deaths being reported by the health department on Wednesday. So far, 153 people have died in the state this year.A health department official said that the deaths were reported from Nagaur, Sikar and Bundi districts. However, there were 49 persons who were tested positive for swine flu on Wednesday.Jaipur is leading in swine flu cases, while Jodhpur has reported the highest number of swine flu deaths this year. Eighteen persons were found infected with swine flu in Jaipur taking total number of cases to 1,883 this year. Out of total cases of swine flu reported in the state, 42% belonged to Jaipur. However, Jodhpur has reported 32 swine flu deaths, which is highest in the state.In the state, there were 4,441 persons who have already been found infected with swine flu till Wednesday.There is a scare of swine flu in the state. The doctors are not taking any chance when they see swine flu suspected cases in providing immediate treatment. On Wednesday, 354 persons underwent swine flu test, among those, 305 were tested negative for the disease. Health department officials have strengthened swine flu testing facilities across the state for early diagnosis and timely treatment for preventing mortality due to swine flu. National Centre for Disease Control released figures of swine flu in the different part of the state compiling figures up to March 3. The report shows that till March 3, Rajasthan had reported 4317 cases and 147 swine flu deaths. Gujarat has reported 3,408 cases and 107 deaths, while in Delhi 3134 persons have already been found infected with swine flu and seven persons have died of the disease.
